Aunt Jemima

Originally Written: 06/17/2020 Ahem ahem, blehiem. As my I learned from my intellectual forefathers, I begin this beautiful dump: Much like how milk is a constant reminder that white people possess privileges that the rest of the world can only dream of, in this case, lactase. It also acts as a reminder that the childhood of every white person in America is validated and reassured through the process of ingesting a nutrient rich fluid whiter than they and their bones, something that the black deposition is completely devoid of. Black people have no black drinks to remind them that they are themselves vital. Asians have lemonade and green tea. Hispanics have hot chocolate. The Indians have Chai tea. The Arabs have Yoo-Hoo! (as arabs are caucasian with more indo-european modification resulting in a darker appearance). Lastly, it was a tool of oppression used by president Clinton and president Bush to further disenfranchise black people by partnering with the board of milk distributors

The PRN Method to Workplace Success

Originally Written: 11/16/2018 Preface: This writing is different than all of my other writings to date. The origin of this writing comes from a very long-winded humorous spiel to a co-worker (J) at NIH who was looking understand why she didn’t always get along with her co-workers. She sought the advice from myself and another co-worker (R) who was well-liked in the lab. Later, my co-worker (J) and I tried to implement much of this plan at one of her other lab sites. Based on that experience alone, I thought it would be a good idea to try and codify it for future uses. Based on my discussions with other people on the subject, it seems that others find it to be both as funny as it is useful. Now, I think I should lay out what I think this short manual should not be used for. I don’t think this manual should be used as a management tool. It simply isn’t about that as the focus of this is how to achieve a good standing with your co-workers in a quick and dirty way and not

Quick Take: Cardano's Recent Dip

I’m relatively new to Crypto, and I haven’t been an active participant in this sphere for too long. Despite that, I have stake in Ethereum, and recently established a position in Cardano. What attracted me to Cardano was the general Cryptocurrency dip that had occurred since the beginning of the summer this year. As I was reading on the subject, I came to discover that there was an update happening soon where smart contracts were going to be enabled to the blockchain. In fact, Charles Hoskinson seemed adamant about releasing the tech on a particular date, September 12th [1].   Now, from my experience with Ethereum so far, it’s obvious that deadlines are a tricky thing to deal with. Ask Vitalik Buterin how hard it is to keep to an update deadline considering that the move to Ethereum 2.0 has been delayed multiple times since its announcement some time ago [2-5]. So as an investor, I love this sort of situation. It’s a simple thesis: 1. There is now a bet being made for this grand annou

Quick Take: USCD Hospital Worker COVID19 Correspondence From NEJM

Over the past 24 hours, the New England Journal of Medicine published a correspondence letter from researchers at the University of California, San Diego title “ Resurgence of SARS-CoV-2 Infection in a Highly Vaccinated Health System Workforce ” [1]. In this letter the authors report that by March 2021, 76% of their healthcare staff was fully vaccinated, and by July, they reached an 83% vaccination rate for their workforce. They collected data using only workers that demonstrated at least one symptom during daily screening, and that had a positive COVID19 PCR test across both vaccinated and unvaccinated people. This method cultivated in the figure below that I would describe as cathartic for those who are in the unvaccinated crowd out there.   We can see that the rate of the symptomatic vaccinated workers has increased by a much sharper degree than the unvaccinated. In fact, according to the table from the article below, the vaccinated group only made up 19% - 33% of symptomatic
